Suchomiln\u00fdm druh\u016fm sta\u010d\u00ed p\u0159irozen\u00e9 de\u0161\u0165ov\u00e9 sr\u00e1\u017eky a m\u00edrn\u00e9 zal\u00e9v\u00e1n\u00ed p\u0159i dlouhodob\u00e9m suchu. B\u011b\u017en\u00e9 druhy rostlin vy\u017eaduj\u00ed \u010dast\u011bj\u0161\u00ed z\u00e1livku. Potom m\u00e1me je\u0161t\u011b rostliny, kter\u00e9 k dobr\u00e9mu r\u016fstu pot\u0159ebuj\u00ed vody opravdu hodn\u011b a prosperuj\u00ed jen na m\u00edstech, kde je trval\u00fd p\u0159ebytek vody v p\u016fd\u011b. B\u011bhem vegetace maj\u00ed kv\u011btiny nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed pot\u0159ebu vody na ja\u0159e, kdy intenzivn\u011b rostou. Pokud je v t\u00e9to dob\u011b sucho, mus\u00edme vodu do p\u016fdy dostat um\u011bl\u00fdm zavla\u017eov\u00e1n\u00edm. N\u011bkter\u00e9 rostliny poch\u00e1zej\u00edc\u00ed p\u016fvodem ze such\u00fdch oblast\u00ed p\u0159es zimu vyhn\u00edvaj\u00ed. Nen\u00ed to vlivem mrazu, ale p\u016fsoben\u00edm vlhka b\u011bhem zimn\u00edho obdob\u00ed.
